vCenter 4.1 Health Monitor error

i'm getting an error on my vCenter

i'm getting

ldap conflicts purge task monitor, the message is LDAP conflicts purge error: Could not retrive ldap instance manager.

and the second error is under

ldap backup task monitor, the message is JoinTool initalization error.

i also get a random alarm

Stateless event alarm

Alarm Definition:

Event alarm expression: Status change

Event details:

com.vmware.vim.sms status changed from green to yellow

i have a case open with VMware, but i think they are stumped.

any ideas?

That is good description. I still believe this version should have never left BETA stage in the current form

All these strange errors that people are having is to do with ADAM database that thay use, and yes they need to make quite few changes before thay own software works with it correctly. I think there is more stored in it than just the above thread mentions

I am sure thay will fix it eventually, but all the grief that we customers must encounter in meantime...

one of the things they asked me is if this server has ever been in linked mode, i told them no.

also this was a fresh clean install.

Same happened after 4.1 Update 1

It was fun to fix it (especially that the SMS service has testpassword hardcoded & one can not use other password with custom certificates)

Excellent tool Portecle - http://portecle.sourceforge.net/ help with certificates, rest is manual travling throug config files & endless services restart before it works as expected
