add datastore

good morning

i have installed a esxi in a new server

the default datasore ( datasore1) is the internal sata disk

now this datastore in small for add a new virtual machine

can i add a new sata disk into server e configure it as a new datastore ?

You'll basically just add the disk,  go to Configuration > Storage Adapters to verify that it has been recognized, and then go to Configuration > Storage and click Add Storage.  The default block size for the datastore will be 1 MB.  This will limit virtual disks to 256 GB.  If you need larger, just choose 8 MB as the block size.  There's no down side to going with a large block size.

Sometimes, local datastores / disks that get added do not appear as you would expect them to. You can still however add them.

there are some problem if i initializa my mew hd with 8 mb block size ( for have a volume big over 256 gb ?
