Info on the VMware vSphere 4.1 Update 1 suite

HI

I would like some information on the suite vSphere VMware 4.1 Update 1:

1) The two main components of this suite are the ESXi server that is installed on a real machine that acts as a Server and the vSphere client that is installed on a Client enabling you to remotely control the ESXi server and the various virtual machines. Right? So, what is the VMware vCenter Server 4.1 Update 1 component? This component is possible on the same Server where the ESXi is installed?

2) In the absence of a NAS (for now), it is possible to create two partitions on the server so that, on a partition, the ESXi is installed and on the other, the different virtual machines are created? If so, what file system I have used in these partitions?

3) The graphics and sound card, used from the virtual machines, are those installed on the Server. Correct? The sound of virtual machines can also be reproduced from the Client or not?

4) From the virtual machines it is possible to burn? If yes, is also possible to use the burner of local Clients? If so, need some special software installed on the local Client to do this?

5) From the virtual machine is possible to use a webcam installed on Client?

6) What hardware requirements of the Server and of the Client are to easy use the suite vSphere 4.1 Update 1 for Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit?

7) The trial vSphere 4.1 Update 1 contains all the editions and then, purchase the license edition that I want and the game is done. Correct?

This is a lot of information to outline in a single thread.  I would suggest you first start by reading the documentation set for vSphere

1. You are correct. vCenter is used to manage multiple ESX(i) host servers and the Virtual machines that run on those hosts. The vSphere client can connect directly to an ESX(i) host to manage just that single host and its virtual machines.

2. ESx(i) will take care of partitioning and formatting the disk space.

3. ESX(i) will provide virtual versions of a sound and a graphics card. They will not mimic the sound and video card installed in the physical hardware.

4. You can not use a CD/DVD burner on the host.

5. You may be able to use a network webcam or use USB device attached to the host to pass through to a guest virtual machine.

6. Visit the VMware HArdware Compatibility list http://vmware.com/go/hcl VMware is a server operating system and has a fairly short list of supprted hardware.

7. The free or trial versions can be instantly upgraded to any of the vSphere versions simply by applying the appropraite license.

I did not really understand some things:

1) The sound of virtual machines can be played from local Clients or not?

2) it is possible to burn from the VM using the Blu-Ray/DVD/CD burner of the local Clients? If yes, this local Clients need some special program to do this?
