Hi!
I haven´t any idea, but if I´m connecting via WAN to my VMware View Server, I got the following error after "Loading Desktop":
Desktop loading warning
Your desktop is loading too slowly,
please check your network.
After this:
Session Disconnected
Disconnect due to lost connection to server.
I´m using a VMware View 4.5 Environment (Security Server and some internal Replica´s)
Was the VMware View Client for iPad only supported with View 4.6?? (Upgrade was in planning phase in our company)
FYI: I´ve tried this with two desktops, one with PCoIP, the second with RDP, same issue.
Thanks, Hannes!!
PCOIP in version 4.5 does not work over WAN via NAT. That is why you need 4.6 with the PCOP Software Gateway to work.
was it possible to configure the ipad client to use RDP??
so, it will work for 4.5 users...
thanks Hannes
anyway the ipad client is not yet to released, i'm wondering are you referring to vmware view for ipad?
hi,
the client has been released:
http://itunes.apple.com/app/vmware-view-for-ipad/id417993697?mt=8
already in austria
feature request:
configurable View Client for iPad which protocol should be used: PCoIP or RDP.
That brings compatibility.
i was using the beta version. hopefully the ipad for my country will release soon ..
ah, ok...
apple has released the final in austria last night... take a look in your itunes store in a few hours
The VMware View iPad client supports PCoIP only. It will work with a View 4.5 deployment but it is not compatible with the View 4.5 Security Server. If you need proxy access through a DMZ to your desktop with PCoIP you'll have to upgrade to View 4.6.
Thanks,
is it possible to upgrade the security server to 4.6 only (for the first step) ??
Thanks Hannes!
Yes, that should work fine!
// Linjo
ok, thanks...
I will try this!!
Same issue here, over WAN not working with same errors
please try to only upgrade your security servers to 4.6...
my infrastructure is already 4.6 , and i've tried multiple security servers (even without security server via VPN) but no way
Make sure you have the proper ports opened on the firewall for the Security server. I will get a list of the ports.
hi, thx Ted, i'll check again
with view client for pc or mac, through the same security servers is working very well.
it's frustrating i cannot use the iPad app hehehe
Hello.
I have the same error message but my Security Server is version 4.6 (installed new) and my Connection Server 4.6 (updated from 4.5)
When I make a Connection within our LAN directly to the Connection Server everything works fine.
If I connect via UMTS/3G with the security gateway, I get the error message:
Connection too slow via WAN
The Security Gateway is in the DMZ. On the firewall I have the port 4172 (TCP / UDP) enabled.
Make sure your Windows Firewall on the Virtual Dekstop has the TCP/UDP ports open as well. We had to explicitly list the ports for it to work.
