Enabling HA on ESXi 4.0

Hi,

We have 2 ESXi 4.0 servers in our lab. The entire lab consists of only 4 machines including 2 ESXi 4.0 servers, 1 Vcenter 4.1 server and 1 Simulated SAN Storage box (Solarwind). The underlying network is still the old one .. 10/100 Mbps network.

Now when we try to enable HA on the cluster, it gives error that 1Gbps network is required to enable HA capabilities. We just wanted to know if there is any way we can get HA working with the existing 10/100 network.

Thanks and Regards,

Srini.

as far as i remember it is not required but then it has being very long that i have a 100Mbps environment, are you sure it's an error rather than a warning message that you can ignore?

I thought the same to be honest - I know FT requires a GB link, but not HA?

either way, to just test, you can create a couple of  virtual ESX hosts on your ESX host and create whatever private network you prefer on this?

One day I will virtualise myself . . .
