Installing ESXi on HP Elite 7200 Desktop = Crash

hi,

i wanted to install the ESXi Server on my new EP Elite 7200 Desktop and after i accept the License it crashes:

the last message i see:

vmkctl.hostctlexecption: unable to load module /usr/lib/vmware/vmkmod/vmfs3: failure

anybody has a clue?

i dont think that esxi wont work on the computer.

theres a windows7 installation on the harddisk - i want to overwrite it

thanks!

ESXi isn't able to recognize a NIC in the system.  You can add something like an Intel Pro 1000 GT or if the system has a realtek NIC you can try a community compiled version - http://www.vm-help.com/esx40i/customize_oem_tgz.php.

do you really think its the nic?

i just deactivated it and still get the same error.

-i am using ahci mode for sata

-the systems uses a geforce gt420 gfx card, intel corei5 quad core

During the installation ESXi requires a network card before the installer can proceed.

The official list is at www.vmware.com/go/hcl.  Here's what ESXi can recognize http://www.vm-help.com/esx40i/Hardware_support.php
