QuickPrep error

My vCenter is in a different domain, and view connection server in a different domain, both domain have one way trust between them.  When i tried to create a pool I get the quick prep error saying account does not enough permission to complete the config.

vCenter/Composer/View Admin has to be in a same domain??  the reason I can't have view connection server in my vCenter domain, becuase i have more than 8 clusters and view does not support that. I am looking for a work around since we are just testing the VMware view.

Thanks in advance.

Hi,

Having vCenter and View Connection server on different domains shouldn't make any problem.

You should add a Domian account with enough permissions to join machines to domain under Viewcomposer domain accounts (edit vCenters->enable view composer add domain. Admin guide p14).

Once you add this, select this account at the customization page of pool creation wizard.

View has a limitation of 8 hosts per cluster but no limit on number of clusters per vCenter as far as i know.

On the Guest Customisation Tab on the Pool settings, does it display the Domain which you want to deploy to? Or is it the vCenter domain?

Hi, you need a two-way trust between both domains.
In the other hand, make sure the account used to create a pool of linked clones has enough privileges on vCenter and Active Directory.
Take a look the "View Installation Guide" from Vmware documentation.  Page 23 through 25,
