Hi!
<sorry for my English :)>
I've a trouble with conversion WinServer2003SP2 power-on machine to virtual machine.
I've tried different combinations of settings, but: "FAILED: Unable to reconfigure the destination virtual machine."
Things I have tried:
1) Installing the converter to my PC win WinXP SP3.
2) Installing the converter to destination machine.
3) Installing the converter to other machines with Server 2003.
4) Selecting 2-4 Gb RAM, 2-4 Processors
5) Using a different drives as the target (local and fibre-channel connected drives)
Other power-on machines convert successfully.
I've attached the logs that I exported.
Thanks,
Dmitry.
do you have more then one boot option in the boot.ini ?

I am getting the same error trying to convert a powered on Hyper-V VM. I do not have multiple entries under boot.ini.
Here is the Boot.ini contents from the Hyper-V VM I am trying to convert.
timeout=30
default=multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)]windows
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS="Microsoft Windows" /fastdetect /NoExecute=OptIn
Thank you,
Matt
I got the same exact error. Is there no answer for this?
I am in training today and tomorrow (11/18 and 11/19)

Hmm what's the country code to get hold of you? i will go extra miles and give you a call 😛
worse case scenario is you can always pop in a windows cd and do a repair. it's tedious and slow but it does get the job done in a slower manner.

Just wanted to give an update. I changed the destination from Ubuntu 9.04 to Windows XP and it worked. So, there is some configuration issue with Linux/Ubuntu. Thanks.
Hi all!
It's the solution that was helped me:
1) Checking file system on all convertible drives.
2) Disconnect all users except the administrator.
3) Empty recycle bin.
