Hi,
Does anyone know if the Broadcom BCM5761 network card is compatible with VMware ESXi 4.0. I'm looking into getting a Dell Precison T3500 and it comes with an integrated BCM5761 NIC.
Thanks!
Hi,
This guy had problems with it:

Have a look here for some known working cards:

Did you ever get an answer to your question? I am using a T5500 as a host (dual Xeon quad cores) and the on-board nic is the BCM5761. It's a pretty easy mod to make it work. This link talks about the steps: http://communities.vmware.com/message/1497619#1497619
Let me kow if you need any help with this procedure.

I need help please
- using ESXi 4.
I tried WinSCP to copy over the XML you posted
After reboot the tg3.xml file is no longer in the folder (folder is 100% empty) and vCenter only shows that host with an Intel dual NIC, not the broadcom.
Also, there were no files in pciid folder before I put the tg3 file there... should there have been?
thx for the help!
Download the oem.tgz file from this post: http://www.vm-help.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=12&t=2002 and copy the file to /bootbank. Reboot.
