VMmark 1.x retiring

According to this site:

http://www.vmware.com/products/vmmark/

VMmark 1.x will be permanently retired in October 2010. It

will remain available for download for academic purposes only. October

5th is the last day to submit VMmark 1.x results to the VMmark Review

Panel.

Is there any flexibility to this deadline? I have a set of related submissions that will not be completed by October 5.

The URL listed above displays 1-877-486-9273 as a place to have questions answered, but they seemed unaware of the VMmark program.

Hello,

I wanted to use it to compare the hardware of different vendors.

I would like to know why this tool is retired ?

Do Vmware plan to build vmwark 2 or something similar ?

Thanks

ML

Thank you !

I think I will use it also to compare vSphere with Hyper-V R2 and XenServer.
