Can a site tell how many visitors are using a VM?

Can a site tell how many visitors are using a VM, and do it without running native code on their PCs?

(Ie without ActiveX, and without having the user run a native executable)

I don't know how that should be possible.

A site can find out which OS, which servicepack , which browser , which screen-resolution you use - but detecting if that is done from inside a VM is not possible without running code on the system.
