Missing icon problem in unity

Hi there,

I've got this problem. When in Fusion Unity, I get "generic" icons in the doc - rather than ones that represent the apps.

The odd thing is whereas the IE icon appears ok, the Firefox icon and vSphere Client are generic...

I'm assuming there might be some kind of "icon cache" that needs clearing.

The offending icons are on the bottom right hand side...

How do I fix this?

With the target Virtual Machine shutdown, not suspended and Fusion closed then delete the following folders that reside within the target Virtual Machine's Package, Applications and appListCache and then restart Fusion and the target Virtual Machine. Theses two folders that reside within the target Virtual Machine's Package will be recreated and the contents rebuilt and in turn you should now get the correct icons to show on the Dock when in Unity View.

Hi WoodyZ.

I have the same problem, but it's in VmWare Workstation, and I can't find the folders that you recommended delete.

Thanks in advance by your help.
