Any way to monitor internal scsi raid disks ?

Hi,

I wonder if it is possible to monitor internal raid1 disks where ESX 4.0 is installed in case of a disk failure ? This is the only thing I can't monitor through vCenter...

I've read and searche for information about smartmontools...are there any chance I can use this ? Any how-to's ?

I don't want to install HP SIM (we are running on HP blade servers)

Thanks!

Regards,

BOK

I think that the only way is install the HP management tools.

Or find a command line utility that can make the tests.

If you are using HP blade server then use the ESXi version customized for HP.

It is designed for exactly this.

If you do not then you will need a cron job with http://cciss.sourceforge.net/ and grep the output looking for "ok" and emailing.
