Hi All,
I am facing the issue in ESX host.
I have install the ESX 4 update 1 in VMware workstation 7.
I have configured the network as DHCP.
But my problem is i am not able to ping the ESX 4 from my desk top PC.
I have set the VMnet0 to auto-bridged(Network) but still i am not able to ping.
Kindly help me in resolution.
Regards,
Aravind.g.k.
I think you have asked this question in the wrong community. You better try again in the VMware Workstation community.

can you ping the other way round ?
do you have more then one physical nic in the host ? - if yes - better disable automatic bridging and assign vments to physical nics manually

what version of Workstation are you using? if linux have a read of my blog post regarding setting permissions on the /dev/vmnet# devices. standard users do not have the correct rights to modify the device into permiscious mode.
