Unable to ping VMware virtual PC from external pc

Hi,

I have VMware Player 3.0 installed in my laptop which as Windows XP professional with SP3.

Guest OS installed in VMware is RHEL linux 4. Bridge connection is enabled. From the same laptop I am able to ping to the Virtual PC and similarly from Virtual PC I am able to ping to other external PC's, But from external PC if I try to ping to Virtual PC, ping DOES NOT work, I get request time out message.

Could any one please help me resolve this?

VMware Workstation 3.0? Sure?

However, have you disabled all firewalls?

Are you sure you use a bridged virtual NIC. The behavior sounds like you were using NAT.

Can you post the current "ipconfig /all" of the host and "ifconfig -a" of the guest, please?
