There are two approaches we can take:
1. Try to figure out what went wrong with your appliance (for which you will need to provide the diagnostic bundle)
2. Just uninstall - for this you can turn off your VA. And you can remove the extension manually from VC. To do this you go to https://<your VC IP address>/mob/?moid=ExtensionManager and click on unregisterExtension. In the key value for the extension to unregister, put "com.vmwware.CapacityIQ"
I am assuming that you tried unreigstering CapacityIQ from our admin portal. If so, what was the error you ran into? There shouldn't be any need to restart the appliance.
Thanks Paragsha, we're happy ot just blow the VA away.
I did as you said but I still see the plugin as available in VC. Does the VC service need to be restarted to fully remove the plugin?
No, you dont have to restart the VC service. But you might need to just restart the VI client.
ahhh... there was a typo in your original post. "com.vmwware.CapacityIQ"
I just copied the name as is. There were two WW's in vmware.
Cool... I've removed it and retarted VC and its gone.
I alos noticed that there are two custom attributes called...
Are these relevant to CapIQ? I really want to make the uninstall as tidy for vCenter as possible.
Sure you can remove those IDs too.
