Left SRA strange behaviour

I have been working with vSphere 4 U1 DRS clusters and SRM connected to Left Hand P4500 storage clusters. I've finally figured out how the SRA works, but I'm not satisfied with the product. My prblem comes when I scan the Array Managers. If I have more than one member of the cluster Authorized to connect to a LUN I will recieve an error stating "a duplicate LUN has been dectected". My only work around is to unauthorize all but one host in the cluster and then scan the Array Managers. I then can update my SRM, after that I Authorize all the hosts again. This gets ugly with large clusters with a large number of LUNs. Is any else have a better soultution to this problem? Is any using LeftHand, SRM and clusters?

mtidgewell,

Any chance you could send the SRM log or a couple of screen shots?

Hi,

As above if you can get the log details from SRM and attach then this would helpful. You can produce the log files by running the following from a command prompt:

c:\Program Files\VMware\VMware vCenter Site Recovery Manager\etc\srm-support.wsf

This will produce a zip file with the log information which can then be looked at to see if its is something that SRM is doing of the way in which Lefthand is interacting.

mtidgewell,

I was speaking to HP/LHN guy and he mentioned if you have more than one node you have to enter the VIP address in the array manager box.

I have tried this in the lab and it seems to pick up the storage without issue.

I have yet to find documentation that says you can use this IP address, and plenty to say use the management IP of the VSA. So just to make you aware.

For me it does bring up a curious point as if you have got more than one node in a cluster, and the node SRM is pointing to fails what happens then.
