Problems with Firefox 3.6

My host system is Win 7 Pro x64 . I had a lot of problems with using Firefox 3.6 as my host browser when I tried to run Fedora 12 as guest in Vmware server 2 When I changed over to IE 8.0 as default host browser ,Fedora 12 would run but I am unable to get internet access when clicking on the firefox icon within Fedora 12 .

Can someone tell me whehter I would expect the same problems with VMware Player version 3.01? Which version of Firefox is compatible with this VM player?

Maybe I should try Opera as browser, any issues with that?

I also noticed in the release notes of VMplayer 3.01 that Win 7 Pro x64 is

not on the compatiblity list. Does this mean I should even try to use

VMware player 3.01 ?

Thanks .

Hi,

is your issue is related to connecting to the Fedora guest via the vmware remote console browser plug-in using firefox 3.6, then you should check in this post the section where i talk about the "ssl handshake" error. Maybe helps you.

The another issue about Internet connection inside the fedora, how have you configured the fedora guest vnic, as nat, bridge or host-only adapter? In you LAN exists a dhcp server or the ip settings are configured statically?

Finally just run this command (as root user) inside the fedora guest and show here its output:

ifconfig -a | grep eth
