Vista x64 Player 3.0 Installation Freezes

Hi,

I was running Player v2 on my Vista x64 Dell XPS 720 without a problem. I decided to upgrade to Player 3.0, downloaded the file and went through the install process. It gets to approximately 95% installed, then freezes. My mouse works, but I can't get any programs to respond or this installation to finish. There aren't any error messages.

After searching the KB, it pointed me to MS KB 935791, but this patch is already installed as part of Vista SP1; I'm running SP2. I couldn't find any other suggestions, and would appreciate any ideas to get this working. Thanks.

The installation kept hanging after Virtual Network Editor would load on the task bar. Maybe this will help someone else that runs into this problem.

I finally have it installed. I closed all running apps in my task bar (did that prior and it didn't help), updated my video and sound card drivers, disabled the microsoft security essentials (antivirus) and shutdown the microsoft firewall. After this, the installation was able to load completely.
