I created a WinXP VM using VM Workstation and have it running on a Vista x64 using VM Player. I just use the XP vm because our corporate VPN requires WinXP even when accessing on home PCs. I just use it for Outlook 2002 and have being doing this for more than a year without problems.
I keep the outlook pst files on the host drive in a OutlookShare folder just for backup purposes. The ost (outlook exchange file) stays on the VM drive.
So, here's my problem. I connect OL to the pst datafiles and have no problems accessing the files. After say 30 minutes, I try and click on the pst file in outlook and I get an error that I don't have permission or there is an access problem. I created a new pst file and have the same problem. I need to close the datafile in outlook, then reopen it.
I searched for a solution but couldn't find anything on the net or this forum. Any suggestions to fix this problem? Thanks.
