NAV Agents in Templates

We do not use templates when we build our VMs, one of the reasons is that we have been told not to install the NAV agent in the template.

Do you put agents in your templates and does that cause issues?

Are you referring the the Navi Agent for Navisphere? We have the Navi agent installed in the Service Console on our ESX 3.5 hosts. In ESX 4 the Navi agent is not required because the paths are supposed to be discovered dynamically. By installing the Navi Agent in templates and VM's are trying to achieve true multipathing?
