How to find the VM's connected to a partical RAW Map LUN.

Hi,

I have many RAW map LUN's which i have connected to few VM's on different hosts.

Its been very long time. Now i dont remember which VM's are connected to my RAW map LUN's.

I have many number of VM's on every HOST so it will take huge time to search manually.

Is there anyway to find which VM's are connected to my RAW Map LUN's.

Thanks in Advance,

Gurram

Hello.

RVTools will work. Look on the vDisk tab at the path information.

Good Luck!

Hi

Locate the RDM LUN, right click and choose 'Browse Datastore'.

I guess you have the vmdk name as the server name.

The RDM LUN am talking about is not partitioned as VMFS.

so it will not be visible in Datastores.

Am using vCenter Server 4.0

Just use powershell and document all vms with a RDM: http://www.virtu-al.net/2008/12/23/list-vms-with-rdm/

Thanks vmroyale,

RV tools is Awesome.

This helped me in this issue and it also has many other features which are very useful.

I think this will help all VMware administrators in many ways.

I did not look at the VMware scripts which are updated in this post. But i will try them as well.

Thanks to everyone.
