Ubuntu 2.6.31-9-rt and VmWare 7 patch need

Hello, in order to record my desktop and avoid a "Broken pipe" error I had to install the latest rt kernel available for my distro.

WIth this kernel I cannot install the drivers that vmware needs and I get some errors during the process.

I tried a patch for vmware 6.5.2 but it didn't work, I had a bunch of errors there too.

This is the log file:

I would be interested to know if anyone has installed Workstation 7 on a real-time kernel, what was required to do so, and if it had any affect on virtual machines.

Hello,

thanks for your interest into this topic.

So far I got just one answer in the channel #vmware on Freenode and it was: "Welcome to commercial software"...

Problem solved with a patch that I found in here. There are 2 patches: one didn't work, so I'm posting here the one which instead did work.

Change your checksums accordingly.

Hope this thread will help some people. Smiley Happy
