    vmotion.checkpointFBSize

    Finiderire Lurker

      Hi,

I am wandering what is the vmotion.checkpointFBSize in the .vmx file of the virtual machine.

I was searching for svga.vramsize because I wanted to change 128MB video memory to 256MB video memory in the virtual machine but I only found  vmotion.checkpointFBSize = "134217728". Can somebody tell me if changing this option will assign more video memory for my virtual graphic card ?

      a+, =)

          Hi again,

I tried to set vmotion.checkpointFBSize = "268435456" in the vmx file of the virtual machine but after the boot of the virtual machine, I am still seeing 128MB in the desktop advanced properties and after shutdown of the virtual machine, the original value (134 ... ... ) is back in the vmx file.

So it seems that changing this value to an higher one has no effect.

Question still pending on how to set 256MB video memory in a Virtual Machine or explanations of what happens if an application needs more than 128MB (dynamic sizing ?)

          a+, =)

              Hi continuum,

Yes, that's why if you read my first post you'll see <<I was searching for svga.vramsize>>...

There is no line svga.vramSize in the Virtual Machine vmx file.

I tried to add one line svga.vramSize = "268435456" which had no effect.

How can I set the svga virtual adapter memory to  more tha 128MB ?

              a+, =)
