Hi.
I'm just trying to update an ESXi host via update utility and always get an "DatabaseFormatError".
The viu*.log shows the following error:
The format of the database is invalid.
Unable to parse vib db at /tmp/stage/firmware/usr/lib/ipkg/vibs.xml: no element found: line 1, column 0
Seems like a corrupt xml file or so, however I have problems finding the mentioned xml file at all. The directory "/tmp/stage" on theESXi host is empty.
I checked with a machine at a different customer where the update utility runs correctly but there I also do not find any files at the directory "/tmp/stage".
Any ideas what is going wrong or how to further track down the problem?
