Audio plays too fast in Fedora 11 guest

Running VMware workstation 6.5.3 on ArchLinux 64-bit host, with F11 32-bit guest.

Audio in the guest runs too fast (around 5x speed) and sounds much like a CD on fast forward, as if it were skipping over samples during playback.  The audio problem spans applications.  I use "speaker-test -twav" to test, just to reduce the number of possible problem sources.

I had the same issue with a Fedora 10 guest, but resolved it by updating the /etc/pulse/default.pa file to include  tsched=0.

I followed the steps in this link:  http://forums.fedoraforum.org/showthread.php?t=225660, but without success.

      I found this link:

      https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=494747

suggesting that the problem is with the sound card emulation in VMware.

Has anyone had success with audio in Fedora 11 guests?  If so, were any special steps required (other than removing Pulseaudio, pehaps)?
