Service Console not responding

I accidentally changed the Service Console network card from 100Mb, Full Duplex to 1000Mb, Full Duplex witch our switch does not support. I did that from the gui in vCenter 4.0. After that I cannot use the service console.

I have logged in to the esx server and tried rmmod vmxnet_console.

It said that it could not find the vmxnet_console?

What can I do to fix this problem?

Hi, from the service console you can use the command esxcfg-nics to manipulate the nic configuration, with no parameters it will return the various options available the usage is esxcfg-nics . You can list the nic configuration using esxcfg-nics -l. To change a nic speed to 100 for lets use vmnic4 as an example use esxcfg-nics -s 100 vmnic4.

Thanks,

Neil

The problem is that the physical nic is down because it cannot find vmxnet_console file.

So I have to get the vmxnet_console file somehow. Is it possible to copy it form one of our other esx servers witch is identical?
