Is there some way to PXEboot the EXSi installer?
If not, someway to make a usb thumb drive that will boot the installer (not the the actual OS)?
Our new HP 360 G6's do not have CDRoms, so the traditional install method will not work.
Yes, if you can pxeboot an image, you can install the image. If you need steps/instructions, take a look here: http://www.vm-help.com/esx/esx3i/ESXi_PXE_install.html It applies to ESXi 3.5 but you can take those instructions and apply it to 4i and using the VMware KB, you can extract the necessary files you need.

Take a look at this VMware KB: http://kb.vmware.com/kb/1008971 it'll work for both 3.5 and 4.0

The best method to install on a DL360 G6 is to use the iLO that these servers come with, and mount a CD from your desktop to the server.
If you didn't buy a license to activate this feature (you really should, you've paid for the hardware already) you can use a 30 day license to get the install done.
The other way out is using a USB CD-ROM.
This looks like it runs VMware from a pxeboot, not installs VMware from pxeboot.
I would like to use pxeboot to install vmware on the local disk. Much like we use pxeboot to kickstart our linux hosts.
No one knows how to install VMware EXSi4 from pxeboot (or usbthumb drive)?
