I/O Error???

I just install an ESX4i server and using the VMware converter to convert the VM .vmx file to the new server. However, I am getting an error stating..."A file I/O error occured while accessing." during the process to view the config details. Anybody have any idea what is wrong?

This .VMX file is a converted OS server from Physical to Virtual machine.

Any input would greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

So if I understand the problem, your VM is on an ESXi server. You are using converter to convert that VM to a standalone or another ESX server. The error when you attempt this is the IO error. IS that right?

What kind of disks are on the ESXi server where this VM is located? (SATA / SAS) Have you tried reading other VM's on the same server to ensure that it's not the server? Have you tried rebooting that ESXi server?

Thanks for the response and the issue been resolved. I move the file to another location and that seem to work ok.
