Thanks, but it was neither of those. The errors happens at 10% of the vmotion proccess. Also, the blade is on patch level is at 4. I remember that bug, it's not the issue. thanks.
As the link Joshua provided, I could say that or you are with time misconfiguration or your COS are having a high load. Maybe you are noticing that other things are slow also...

Thanks for the link. i will save it and use it in the future. I tried all the steps, and the new host was fine. i could ping using vmkping, could ping each host by ip, long and short names, time was all set to sync via my domain controllers, checked the load on the host...almost nothing. in fact one of the VMs is a citrix server, and it is still up and doing really well. I do have a HP switch that support jumbo frames, and have set my vmotion network up to use jumbo frames. would that make a difference? so on each virtual switch the mtu size is 9000 and the physical switch has jumbo frames turned on.
i have found i can vmotion to that server, but not from it. i do have EVC turned on. that host is a hp bl460 G6, and the other 2 are bl460 G5.
