Hello all
two problems
Fresh install of vSphere on Dell SC1430 (Dual Quad Xeon, 8GB ram), GB network.
1. Reboot of the server takes a couple of minutes however to logon using vsphere client take 10-15 minutes.
2. Despite enabling web access in the security profile we're still receiving a service unavailable
Are you using ESX or ESXi?
Do you have iSCSI, FC, NFS or local storage?
Andre
Check the network latency and see the resonse time if there is any delay between network. Also chkconfig services on the server, it seems to be some services are stopped.

ESX 4 & local storage.
prior to ESX 4 on the same server and same config, we had a fresh install of ESX 3 then another fresh install of ESX 3.5 update 4 never had any problem with a delay in the logon process after a reboot.
What would cause the services to stop?
Reboot your system, and and init start watch which services does not start.
When screen change, use CTRLALTF1 to turn back to init screen.
Have you installed thirth part programs? Like Dell OpenManage?

Thank you everyone for your help. I ended up formating/reinstalling. It is working again.
I'm having the exact same problem (quad-core intel, 8GB DDR2).
The error popup sais the server closed the connection for 5-10 minutes after the server is showing the yellow screen.
I have nothing critical on it I'll try a reinstall.
