"No licenses matching serial number were found" -- Workstation 6 and 6.5

Hey gang.. I've run into a little bit of a pickle.

I'm at a friend's house, trying to show how awesome Vmware 6.5 is. So, we go thru the motion of registering for a trial, get the email and activate the key via email.

Upon installing Workstation 6.5 (Windows) we put in the keycode we get. It expires Jan 15th.

As soon as we do, we get: "No licenses matching serial number were found."

So.. just for fun, I uninstall 6.5 and try 6.0.5 (which I have on my USB key.)

And.. won't you guess!! Same exact error ... with the same key. I tried getting another key myself .. just in case my friend was doing something wrong.

And... "No licenses matching serial number were found." No matter what key I use.

I've never ever encountered this. Please advise! Thanks in advance !

I have tried XP /SP2 and Vista.

I'm theorizing that something is wrong NOT with the key generation program, but with VMware builds themselves.

Specifically.. my guess is that since the trial BEGINS in 2008 and ENDS in 2009, something is screwing up with the key "intrepreter" program in VMware workstation and causing ALL NEW KEYS to fail.

i just got the trial serial from vmware today and it also gave me exact same error message!

I'm getting the same error message today.

just got a new serial number... and it looks valid on the site... but when I enter it, it comes up with "no licenses found for serial number"

help? I need to get this done to day for a demo on Friday!!!!

Im getting the same error.

Im try request new serial and try new download but don't work.

VMware Workstation 6.5.2 for Windows and VMware ACE 2.5.2, but ACE license (ACE Management Server) work perfectly.
