Hi gurus,

But now fails with a general error, that does not explain what is happening.

so you all think it might have been an available space problem?

Could be the most realistic reason.

Do you have enough space in your VMFS volumes (to store snap) and in your VCB stage area (to store the entire VM)?

Just barely, but yes, the space is enough.

Very strange, cause seems to be an error in snapshot.

Does your VM contain a single VMDK disk or more than one?

There are 6 VMDK's.

You mention "Just barely, but yes, the space is enough" How much do you have compared to your vmdk's.As with many backup operations there is temporary storage to consider and what you have available may not all be useable.

On the production disk I have 150 GB free (total space of the vmdk's is about 250 GB). The snapshot is made at an hour with little trafic, so the snapshot does not grow more than 50 GB, what leaves me still 100 GB free...

On the VCB mountpoint I have 270 GB free, so, when the vcb fullvm is made I end up with only about 20 GB free on the Lun.

Have you tried to do a manual snapshot and see how much does it grow? Only 50GB as you write above?

Strangely, after 3 or 4 days the backups started to run successfully again, without any change made...

Don't know what happened, but I',m affraid it might happen again... so you all think it might have been an available space problem?
