VMWare Converter Standalone to ESXi 4.0 - Thin disks?

I am wondering if there are plans for Converter to support provisioning thin disks on to ESXi 4.0?

VMotion is not an option for me unfortunately, and am not looking forward to recreating a VM just to get a thin disk ...

In theory I suppose I might be able to create a thin disk and clone from one hard drive to the other but that is not something that I have tried before and so i am not quite sure what is involved?

Does anyone have any input in to this? I'll be workining on installing ESXi 4.0 as soon as I have time (assuming that my whitebox supports it) ...
