Hi guys,
I am not sure now but I quite sure that I was able to hard code a MAC address within a MV using a not VMWare Mac Address pool. Am I correct? or this is not possible?

Well, you should be able to tell the NIC driver which MAC adress to use.

Within the VM you should be able to hard code a MAC Address - it is when you modify the VMX file that you have to be in VMware's Range -

VI Client does not permit to enter MAC other than starting with 00:50:56 (VMware pool I guess).

Hi there,
I was under the impression that I was able to change the MAC within the VM before but it appears that I can not now.
The new MAC has to be within VMware MAC address pool regardless of the place (VIC o .vmx file) you try chaning it from... anyway I will read the info that Andre sent me.
Thank you guys, much appreciated.

Hi Troy,
Thanks for your post. I was able to change the MAC no problem by following one of the KB article you sent me.
The issue was that I was putting the MAC address using colons!!. Without colons it works like a charm.
