After updating Workstation from 6.5.0 to 6.5 2, WinXP VMs created with 6.5.0 or 6.5.1 and Tools installed by these versions no longer can access shared host folders.
The Vmware tools in the guest show an yellon icon and says that update is available.
But updating the Tools needs reboot of the guest. This is not always possible.
When I receive VMs from other people in a certain state ( or my own snapshots made before update), the host folders stop working.
Please, for the next updates, don't break the host folders compatibility.
