Hardware Serial Number

Does anyone know how to retrieve the hardware serial number using the VI Toolkit when running ESXi? When on the console I select View Support Information the correct hardware serial number is displayed but so far I've been unable to find this using the toolkit. I have been able to find the Vendor, Model, UUID but hardware serial number seems elusive. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks for the reply but this only provides the UUID for the server not the actual hardware serial number.

Dave, I didn't mean the script I gave in that thread, that it's indeed the UUID.

I wanted to point out that it apparently isn't exposed via the SDK but that you can sometimes get it with HW specific tools.

See the least entry in that thread for IBM HW.
