Convert task runs to 97% then fails with the following in the log:
val = (converter.task.TaskInfo) {
dynamicType = <unset>,
key = "task-4",
task = 'converter.task.Task:task-4',
name = "Convert",
descriptionId = "Convert.P2V",
userName = "xxxxxx.xxxxx",
source = "xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx",
target = "xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx",
state = "error",
cancelled = false,
cancelable = true,
data = <unset>,
error = (vmodl.fault.SystemError) {
dynamicType = <unset>,
reason = "SSL Exception: BIO Error",
msg = "A general system error occurred: SSL Exception: BIO Error"
We are doing a test P2V on some Cisco Unified Messaging servers - the hardware is HP/Compaq server with a Windows 2000 Server OS. The server os is modified from Cisco from what I am told.

jamieorth,
Can you provide the log files as an attachment to this thread?
Windows 2000 commonly fails at 97% for a variety of reasons, and off of these fall into being a 'reconfiguration' fault. If the virtual machine is left over on the destination, then we may be able to complete that last 3%.
Here are some example kbs for failures at 97%:
http://kb.vmware.com/kb/1006295/
http://kb.vmware.com/kb/1001620/
http://kb.vmware.com/kb/1006858/

Thanks. This solved my problem. Based on that first KB article, I was able to go into VI and "reconfigure" the VM. That did the trick!!

Good to hear that worked out for you!
There are tons of KBs in our system http://kb.vmware.com .... it's best to just pick the product and then state 1 to 2 words about the failure with something that is somewhat unique. I used "converter 97%" as my search terms without picking a product.
Other good results are for "converter network error".
