Does previous generation MacBook Pro 17" have VT support in BIOS?

Specifically the FB470LL/A or the FB512LL/A. Can I run both 32-bit and 64-bit guest OS's in a VMWare Fusion host running under OS X on these machines?

My concern is I bought a Vista Core2 Duo HP notebook four months ago that apparently did not have VT BIOS enable support according to the VMware processor check utility. My experience with my iMAc 17" I purchased almost 1.5 years ago is yes they do support it but I have no experience with Apple notebooks. I will likely purchase online and have no way to test before purchase.

Thanks in advance,

Macs don't have a BIOS, but any 64-bit Intel Mac has VT-x and is capable of running 64-bit guests (and of course 32-bit guests as well). Either of the models you specify will work.

Well that makes it simple. All I have to do is check the CPU manufacturer for VT support.

I expect as long as I buy an Apple less than two years old then I will have VT support. I will get a MacBook Pro then for my Linux and Windows development.

Thank you very much!

You don't even need to check that - the only 32-bit Intel Macs were the first generation Core Solos/Core Duos. Any Core 2 Duo/Xeon Mac (i.e. anything since Oct 2006 with the exception of the mini, which moved over in Aug 2007) is fine, they all support VT-x.
