Nice! Been waiting for this one. Can't wait to get it installed (downloading it at the moment).

Thanks!

I have started the download already twice. But when it is at 99% it stalls. We have seen this before. It makes no difference what download manager I use. When it stalls, and I pause and resume it, I get a 403 error from the server.

Is it just me or is the download speed from the VMWare site incredibly slow? I am getting between 56KB and 63KB download speeds (and I am at my corporate offices where we have multiple OC12 connections so the the incoming bandwidth is not the problem). It appears as if the VMWare download site is using a single B channel of an ISDN connection. And this is not just on the 2.0.3 download, but every download I have tried from VMWare has been abysmally slow. And I have downloaded things from the site weeks or months after release so it is not just high traffic for a new product/version release hammering the site.

I have downloaded the update in less than 6 minutes, without any hitch, at 09:50 EST.

No problems applying it.

As a workaround, try Safari. What download managers and browsers are you using?

Although I'm happy to see that shared printing is fixed, it would be greatly appreciated if more of the Known Issues were addressed. Thanks for all of your hard work and have a great weekend!

Printing passthrough was the big driver for this release, we decided not to wait for other fixes. Don't worry, we're working on lots more Smiley Happy

Exactly Smiley Happy we pushed hard on a quick fix for printing and I am glad we got 2.0.3 out a couple weeks before the (U.S.) tax filing deadline Smiley Happy

I normally use Firefox (3.0.8) with DownThemAll! I also tried Safari with its own download manager. And I tried Windows XP SP3 with IExplorer 8 and Go!Zilla. All of them had the same problem.

This afternoon, Firefox and DTA did the job, so I have the 2.0.3 update.

Bart

I've installed the 2.0.3 upgrade, but my VM (Vista Business SP1) never indicates that there's an upgrade available to a new version of the VMWare Tools suite.

Presumably the new version came with a new version of VMWare Tools -- is there some reason I can't upgrade to it from within the VM as I have for v.2.0.2 and v.2.0.1?

There is no need to upgrade VMware Tools if you went from Fusion 2.0.2 to 2.0.3. The Tools versions are the same. I forgot to call this out in the announcement, but will fix it soon.

Thanks for confirming that the tools don't need to be updated.

Sadly, driverless printing still isn't working for me. Printing from the Mac side is, of course, working fine: my default printer is an HP Deskjet 6980 attached via USB to an AirPort Express. Vista can see my installed printers and tries to print to the correct one, but the file never makes it from the VM to the Mac side, and the Deskjet's actual print queue on the Mac side remains empty. I've restarted both the VM and the Mac twice.

So frustrating! Is there something specific about my setup -- say, for example, the fact that my printer is attached to my router and not directly connected to my MacBook Pro -- that would cause this behavior? If so, is there a support document that will help me finally get the blasted thing working?

Installed 2.0.3 over a working 2.0.2 and now all VM's claim they can't access the VM or temp space? My account is not admin level that I run in. The VM's are owned by my account. I ran diskutil repairpermissions and I'm on 10.5.6.

I just went through the update. Everything went smoothly and seems to be working just as it did prior to the security update.

Thanks for your work!

I was thrilled to see you finally released the supposed fix for shared printing this morning. So, I downloaded v 2.0.3, rebooted my VM and, voila! I still get the same error "attempted to connect to printer daemon 25 times so the device will be disconnected" !!!! This is the same error that started after the security update, and despite everything I have tried (reinstalled VMware tools, rebooted VM, rebooted my Mac) and still nothing!!! This is very frustrating. It affects both of my VM's (Win XP and my Win 7 Beta VM's) the same way. Is nobody else getting this error? What am I doing wrong. I am able to print from my XP VM by installing the bonjour printer for my networked wireless HP printer, but not from the Win 7 beta machine, as there is no Bonjour yet available for the Win 7 beta and there are no working drivers for that OS yet either. Everyone else seems to be able to use Thin print now, but me. What am I doing wrong? Please help, as this is very frustrating. I am running the latest OS X Leopard v 10.5.6. I tried the suggested "workaround" by uninstalling the "cupsd" before the new v 2.0.3 came out, and it still didn't fix my problem, so clearly there is something else going on. Can anyone help me? I find VMware's support to be terrible! The only help seems to be on this forum, so please can someone help me?

Should those of us who installed Bonjour to print from 2.0.2 remove it? If so, what settings should we use once Bonjour has been removed? Thanks

Thanks for getting this fix out quickly.... don't suppose that perhaps there might be an unmentioned fix for the problem w/ the mouse pointer in the guest (Vista - everything works, but the pointer itself doesn't change according to its location - remains the same: the hand)?

No, this has not been fixed in 2.0.3. We thought we had a potential fix, but several people who tried it still saw the same mouse cursor issue.
