Hello,

Moved to ESXi forum.

I would ensure the BIOS is up to date, that is what it looks like to me.

Had a similar issue with an ASUS KFN4-D16 (same NVidia Chipset). I had to ask ASUS for a new BIOS. ASUS did not list the B3-Steppings on their CPU support site. Tyan does not list the steppings on their CPU support site.

I am getting the same error using my Tyan S2912 with two 2347 HE's. I tried using the latest BIOS v4.00 and an older BIOS v3.03 for my motherboard, both giving the same error. It seems to only affect Update 3, and I have previous versions on ESX and ESXi on disk, and only Update 3 gives the error. No problems with any other OS either.

Any ideas?

Any luck with this yet? Tyan said they only support a stepping of 3 or better.... I guess I will run ESX 3.5 Update 2 for a while until it gets fixed.

I have the same issue on Tyan S3970 with 2x Opteron 2346 HE, and ESXi 3.5 U3. U2 works fine. MB BIOS is the newest available.

Yes, it does. The BIOS i mentioned is now made public availabe. I received it before via private email from ASUS Support.

>How about hyper-V?

Didn't try Windows Server 2008... Perhaps I could try, the machine is still on test.
