    device id out of range sound disconnected vmware workstation 6.5

      When i run some of my apps i get the following error message popup from vmware workstation 6.5:



      A device ID has been used that is out of range for your system sound will be disconnected



      (xp xp2 guest running on windows vista 64 bit host)



      I am wondering what is causing this and how to fix it?






      i think i isolated the vmware.log warning here:
