I have tried to clone virtual machine but it failed. The error msg "A general system error occured:Field to buffer serializationerror" Anyone have same problem with me.
Check the port group that you are cloning to, check if there are any spaces in the name and if so rename them eg: vswif1. Then try your clone.

I'm still confuse on this, actually i'm try to clone the VM is sitting on the same ESX box.
what version of esx? ESXi, 3.x or 3.5 update X?
Do you have any Resouce pools on the esx server?
Is the ESX server certified or is is just a test server?
Are you using - SCSI, iSCSI, SAN, SATA or IDE hdd's?
Intel or AMD?
