Hello
in my VDI lab environement I have setup a VDI infrastruktur. I have created a GPO on the OU where the VDI desktops are, and set some stuff like "not to redirect local drives". But this policy is not applied (I also set the "policy loopback mode" switch with replace)
Thanks
The vmware adm's responsible to redirect or not the local drives has to
be applied on the client computer(where the vdm client is installed) not
the VDI Desktops.
how can i ensure that vdm-clients connecting from external are not able to redirect their local drives?
is it not possible to apply this gpo to the virtual desktop machine?
Follow this
http://vmware.com/files/pdf/vdi-xp-guide.pdf
disable Redirect Drives
kris
I followed it but the guide says that the GPO has to be applied on the Client Device.
Internal that is no problem but how can i ensure that devices connecting from external are not able to redirect their drives?
Hi,
if you for instance set this GPO: (APPLIED TO THE XP-VDI )
Computer Configuration / Admin Templates / Windows Components / Terminal Services / Client/Server data Redirection
Do not allow drive redirection = enabled
No one connecting to the VDI will be able to redirect their local drives to the RDP session.
To be clear: you apply this GPO to the VDI not to any client device
