Unable to connect a Symbol handheld scanner

I'm trying to connect a Symbol MC9090CE scanner Windows XP on Fusion. Windows always replies with "USB Device Not Recognized. One of the USB devices attached to this computer has malfunctioned, and Windows does not recognize it." This message flashes and reappears for several minutes before finally stopping. ActiveSync 4.5 says "No Connection" and sees no devices.

I also have a Garmin iQue which connects immediately and with no problem.

Steps I've taken: Uninstalling and reinstalling ActiveSync. Deleting all USB drivers and rebooting. Trying different USB cables and different USB ports. Hard booting the Symbol MC9090CE. Restarting Windows. Searching fruitlessly on Symbol's support web site for any drivers or updates.

Any further suggestions?

I've just upgraded Fusion to 2.0.0, upgraded the virtual machine and VMware Tools, and the same thing is still happening. I've tried it with USB 2.0 enabled and disabled in the virtual machine settings.

Any suggestions?

If this helps: Whenever I select "Connect Symbol PocketPC SmartPhone" from Fusion's menu, the USB symbol at the bottom of the virtual machine's window appears and disappears repeatedly for a minute or two, (about once every 1-2 seconds) and the option to "Disconnect Symbol PocketPC SmartPhone" also appears and disappears from the Virtual Machine > USB submenu.

Interesting. Please get a USB debug log as requested earlier.

Arg. Sorry. I sometimes get confused by a two-line email. 😛

Log is attached, thanks very much for the instructions.

Have you had any luck with this... I'm seeing the exact same issue.
