Invalid Path error creating disk Workstation 6.5

When trying to make a new virtual machine. Workstation 6.5 fails with the dialog box just after or at the end of creating the disk:

Fatal Application Error: Invalid Path.(class cui::error).

I am using Windows XP Pro SP3 as the host. I get this error whatever guest OS I try to install.

I appreciate any advice, since VMWARE tech support refuses to talk to me since I am evaluating the software.

Select "Help" -> About" and make a note of the UI log file location.

Reproduce the issue and post the UI log file here

Where are you trying to store the virtual machine? Local drive, external driver..USB...etc

How much disk space do you have available?

Thanks for your help. It turns out I had a bad installation. I reinstalled WS 6.5 and now it works.
