I am in the process of automating the VM deployment using templates. However when the customization wizard runs, I want the VM to be added to a particular OU in the domain. Is there any way to provide the details in the customization wizard to have the VM join to a particular OU in the domain. All the VMs start with a particular name like "XPVD..." Is there any way if this condition can be applied somewhere to meet the requirement? Also, I cannot write any passwords in a text file as it is a security concern.
Could you please provide a workaround or solution for this?
Thanks
1. You can create the computer account before joining the system to the directory in the OU you would like it to be.
2. Use "netdom"

Check this discussion as well.
Good Luck!
I would agree... Create the accounts before hand, using the above method, or using DSADD.
I did a post on it here:
And Chris Skinner did a paper here:

I was about to point to Jase's post as I do agree that creating the accounts beforehand is the best route. Good work on the script Jase.

Thanks for the kudos... I try to get around using .vbs scripts, as they can get tied up in the whole cscript/wscript issue.
Now... If VMware could add a piece to the deployment process that would allow us to have VirtualCenter add the computer account, before deployment, we'd be in good shape!
