Fusion quits when trying to add existing virtual hard disk

Every time I try to add an existing virtual hard disk, I get this error... "The application VMware Fusion quit unexpectedly."

Perhaps I am misunderstanding what an existing virtual hard disk is? What I am trying to do is get WinXP in my Boot Camp partition to recognize the other Windows HDDs I have installed in my Mac Pro. I'm testing to see if Adobe's After Effects 7.0 will run better in Fusion 2.0 versus natively in WinXP through Boot Camp, but I can't get After Effects to open the project which resides on one of my other internal HDDs.

Am I doing something incorrect which is causing this error?

Thanks.

What version of Fusion is this? Please post vmware-vmfusion.log immediately after such a crash (but before starting Fusion again).

I have Fusion 2. I did try WoodyZ's link and it worked. Thanks WoodyZ.

But in any case, I think I'll just install this. It didn't give me a boost in performance with After Effects that I was hoping. The render time actually doubled... and that was even after giving the VM 4GB ram (out of a possible 8GB in Mac OS). WinXP in Boot Camp in the VM saw 3GB, but After Effects was still only seeing 2GB like it did by running it natively in Boot Camp.
