Every VM has a BIOS and you can disable pxe boot in there. just press f2 when the vm boot and look for the bootup section and disable the nic boot.

Theonly reason why it would PXE boot is because it did not find anything else to boot from - I would first investigate why it is not booting from the cd hard disk or floppy - but Duncan's is correct -

You can also remove virtual Ethernet Adapter from virtual machine configuration. It won't have network adapter to use for PXE boot. Smiley Wink

The problem was with my CD/DVD ROM. For some reason, VMware cannot see it. So, I IOS'd everything and was able to install the client VMs. Now I have to find out why ESXi cannot see my host DVD

I have the same problem I have a machine that's been copied off a laptop and needs to have a "vm" bcd and need a way to get into bios because pxe doesn't work on my system as those devices are NOT PRESENT, and I accidentally have pxe booting in vmware please post fix.

Please try changing the bios type [types are UEFI and legacy bios] of VM and then try booting from the DVD or ISO. It should work then.

Upvote, if it helps.
