I have succesful convert a Sun Solaris 10 fysical machine with the VMconverter 3.03 boot cd. But the virtualmachine won't boot in VMware Workstation 6.0.2
The GRUB bootloader is starting but when I selected the Solaris 10 6/06 s10x_u2wos_09a X86 option, I get an error: panic[cpu0]/thread=fec1e1a0: cannot mount root path
The second option in GRUB, The Solaris failsafe option can start up corectly
Any ideas what's, wrong with this virtual machine ?
This might be more appropriate in the Workstation Forum. Since the conversion went through, the VM will start up based off of the old hardware configuration.
If failsafe boots, it might just be a driver conflict ... but I don't know Solaris all that much. Can you attempt to install tools in Solaris failsafe mode? that would at least get the drivers onto the system for the setup you have.
from what you have posted, it looks like you have a kernel panic when loading the main file system. that's common when doing a P2V on a linux based os.
What was the hardware in the original system, and can you attach the .VMX file from the virtual machine?
thanks

First off, make sure to go into Edit Settings, and set the operating system to Sun Solaris.
Then take a look at these 2 threads, which may help you:
That was an helpful starting point, but the instructions
didn't work for my Solaris
